Q: I want to join the Fire Department; do I have to be both a Firefighter and an EMS/EMR?
A: While many of our members choose to participate in both response groups there is no requirement or expectation of that. As a new member you should evaluate what you feel best suites you, be it one or the other, or possibly both. The Fire Department will support you and provide the necessary training and skills to succeed in these activities.

Q: How often does the Fire Department meet?
A: The Department meets at least twice a month – usually on the first and third Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 pm. Additional training meetings are available on the second Thursdays of the month any time after 6:30 pm. In addition, the EMS/EMR side of the Department meets on the fourth Thursday of the month. All meetings, unless otherwise noted, take place at the Fire Station – 2258 Mill Road, Sister Bay.
