The Sister Bay & Liberty Grove Fire Department First Responders (EMR) provide initial care and treatment to the sick and injured in Northern Door County. Our EMR’s are trained to a variety of levels including EMR, EMT and Paramedic. We work in partnership with the Paramedics from Emergency Services of Door County under a cooperative agreement, joint protocols and common medical direction.

The Department inspects all public buildings for safety code violations as deputy inspectors for the Department of Commerce. Questions regarding inspections or changes to your business can be directed to the department by calling (920) 854-4021.

A Firefighter performs a variety of technical and physical skills when participating in fire suppression, rescue or prevention activities.
The Sister Bay and Liberty Grove Fire Department offers a comprehensive training center for any community member who would like to learn lifesaving skills.
A First Responder (EMR) is trained to provide the initial care and treatment of the sick and injured in an emergent situation. The first responder provides this level of care until the arrival of the County Paramedics, then continues to provide care and assistance under the direction of the County EMS service.

How long are the classes?
Most classes run about 3 hours; however, we have found that students feel the time goes by very quickly because of the amount of interaction and hands on time that is available.
